Abstract: In this general talk, I will discuss the emergence of the nanoscale in materials and devices that will have a profound impact on the technologies of the future. The development of nano-engineered structures and architectures is both challenging and exciting. Talk will discuss the opportunities in this field based on nearly 25 years of work done in the speaker’s lab on various nanomaterials such as carbon nanotubes, nanocomposites, graphene and other 2D materials etc. The exploration of nanostructures, their assembly, their remarkable properties, and the challenges involved in integrating them into real applications will be the basis of discussion. The advent of nanotechnology will have a significant role in the shaping of a next generations of technologies and society at large.
