Renowned Archaeologist Dr. KK Muhammed gives a Lamakaan Lecture on Excavation and Conservation of Early Buddhist sites in U.P and Bihar.

Excavation and Conservation of Buddhist sites in U.P and Bihar is nothing but a Power Point Presentation of some of the Important sites associated with Lord Buddha in flesh and blood. The rock on which he sat became hallowed one and the message he gave to the world from here still echoes at the doorstep of the Human kind. In this presentation you will be travelling with some one who himself has excavated some of such hither to unknown Stupas and played an important role in the conservation of the classical sites such as Nalanda, Vikramshila, Vaishali, Kesariya, Sarnath and Kushinagar. The task was challenging and often bristling with dangers as he had to fight with vested interests and anti social elements.

Karingamannu Kuzhiyil Muhammed, better known as K. K. Muhammed, is a renowned Indian archaeologist. He was the Regional Director (North) of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), and is currently serving as Project Archaeological Director in Aga Khan Trust for Culture.
