Inviting all for a Talk on 'Medical Ethics' by Steven D. Weiss, Associate Professor of Philosophy, Georgia Regents University, Augusta, USA.

The talk will be preceded by a video of Atul Gawande, Author of the book 'Being Mortal' - A deeply affecting, urgently important book one not just about dying and the limits of medicine but about living to the last with autonomy, dignity, and joy.

The talk will be followed by open session of Q & A.

Steven D. Weiss is a PhD. M.A. from University of Wisconsin.

Dr. Weiss's research interests cover ethical theory, applied ethics, 19th-century European philosophy, the history of philosophy, political theory, aesthetics, and critical thinking. He is currently working on the ethics of designer drugs for brain enhancement.

His Courses Taught in GRU are: Introduction to Philosophy; Contemporary Ethical Issues; Contemporary Political Philosophy; Environmental Ethics; Ethical Theory; Philosophy of the Human Person; Ancient Political Philosophy; 19th Century European Philosophy; Bioethics; Philosophy and Medicine; Just War Theory.
