Kaushal Kowjalgi started learning the Tabla at the age of 12 from Shri. Shashank Parulekar; although his initial foray into music-learning was guided by Smt. Kulkarni who put him through the paces of Hindustani Raagdhari sangeet. 　　 Kaushal has also had the privilege of learning in various workshops conducted by well-known Gurus, viz. Pt. Sudhir Mainkar, Pt. Bhai Gaitonde, & Pt. Suresh Talwalkar. Kaushal has been receiving valauable guidance in the art of Tabla accompaniment from Ustad Abdul Halim Jaffer Khan and Pt. Prabhu Tendolkar.

Kaushal has performed regularly at various concerts, mainly at Guru-purnima celebrations of Ustad Abdul Halim Jaffer Khan, Padmabhushan, and Pt. Sadanand Naimpalli "MUSIC LOVERS' CLUB", Mahatma Gandhi Seva Mandir, Bandra private “mehfil” at Late Dr. Smt Gangubai Hangal’s residence, Hubli ‘SWARARNGAN MUSIC”, Vile-Parle, Mumbai “SWARA-SADHANA VIDYALAYA, Dahisar, Mumbai the 235th Bhaadrapad Ganapati Utsav organised by “Shree Ganapati Pachayatan Devasthan, Tasgaon”, Sangli.
