Special intensive revision (SIR) is the new weapon in the hands of the central government to threaten the common people particularly the minorities and other vulnerable sections of the people.Reports from the ground suggest that marginalized communities, migrant workers, minorities, and the urban poor are disproportionately affected by voter deletions. Such selective disenfranchisement cannot be dismissed as coincidence. It reflects a political strategy where electoral rolls are manipulated to shape outcomes in favor of the ruling establishment, rather than reflecting the genuine will of the people.
In this background we are conducting the debate on the motives behind SIR on 24th February 2026.
