This documentary explores the unique system of democratic self-governance emerging in Rojava (Northeast Syria), where diverse communities organize through neighborhood communes to make collective decisions. Rooted in ideas of grassroots democracy, women’s liberation, and ecological responsibility, the film looks at how people are building participatory structures of governance even amid conflict.

The screening will begin with a brief pre-discussion for context, followed by the film. After the screening, the filmmaker will join online for a discussion with the audience.
