మరువం (maruvam) is a recently reactivated forum for probing, Intelligent, and artistically oriented talks/conversations/audio performances primarily in Telugu.

Maruvam means the aromatic plant sweet marjoram, as well as the phrase, ‘we shall not forget’. ధ్వని (dhvani) will be a fortnightly program slot on Maruvam for an immersive performative audio presentation of accomplished Telugu literary texts—poetry/fiction/prose—with appropriate multimedia support.

Bringing to the fore the full range of vocal and suggestive power of a language and popularising correct and efficient enunciation and vocalization is a dire cultural necessity of any society. More so with Telugu, which has suffered enormously due to various factors including quality of language teaching, the increasing dominance of English, as well as sloppy social and media articulation during the last three or four decades.

Maruvam and Dhwani are dedicated to working for and renewing and popularising good standards in Telugu articulation in all its varieties. We are starting off with a reading of his chosen poems by renowned Telugu poet Seetaram on 16th of April, Thursday at 7 pm.

Seetaram is known for his highly chiselled, critical and emotionally charged poems loaded with pungent irony and satire. He also reads and articulates his poems exceptionally well.

Do come and enjoy this immersive experience!

In association with Lamakaan. The second programme of dhvani will be a reading of a set of great Telugu short stories by Sumanaspati, former radio broadcaster. On 30 th of April, Thursday at 7 pm.
