IKS - Indian Knowledge Systems - has come to the fore with its share of possibilities and confusions. The Indian Knowledge Systems Division now sits within the Ministry of Education and the National Education Policy of 2020 pushes IKS into curricula at every level of education. From its inception, it has been sanskritised that doesn't reflect the true wealth of Indian knowledge systems which is oral, plural, and regional and under the stewardship of diverse communities across the nation.

How do we understand the true relevance of Indian Knowledge Systems for the challenges we face today in 2026, with two decades of work left to fulfil our collective promises for Viksit Bharat 2047? Ramasubramanian Oruganti has been grappling with these questions for more than 30 years with his grass roots work spanning across different communities. This will be a brief talk, followed by a dialogue.
