What if you could draw a song?
In this unique, immersive workshop, we’ll explore the connection between music, emotions and art.
Instead of drawing what you see, you’ll listen to different pieces of music and turn what you hear and feel into colours, lines, shapes, patterns and textures.
Along the way, you’ll also learn simple and fun art techniques that will help you translate sounds and emotions onto paper.
You don’t need to be an artist or know how to draw. There are no right or wrong interpretations. Your artwork is your own response to the music.
By the end of the workshop, you’ll have created a unique artwork inspired entirely by the music you heard, which you can take home with you.
While you learn different art techniques, you’ll also be introduced to basic music forms, their structure and a little history and information on what you hear!

Ashrita is a singer, pianist, composer and Music Educator based in Hyderabad. She has spent more than 20 years teaching voice, piano in Hyderabad, Chennai, Mumbai and Srilanka. She holds ABRSM Grade 8 in Piano and Music Theory and a DipABRSM in singing, and specialises in Voice culture while preparing students for Trinity and ABRSM Exams. She Previously taught at AR Rahman's school in Chennai. She is the Conductor of The Hyderabad Voices and their Junior chorus and founder of the music Institute Strings and Tunes.
Avishi is an artist and art educator based in Hyderabad. Her work grows from watching everyday life and nature - drawing, painting and illustration in pen, watercolour, acrylic and mixed media. Sketchbooks sit at the centre of her practice : close studies of animals, birds and people, alongside playful doodles and experiments that don't always need a finished result. In 2019 Avishi founded Little artist, where she teaches children and adults. Teaching has become a part of how she works and has shaped her belief that art should encourage curiosity, experimentation and confidence, not the pressure to be perfect. She also runs workshops and community projects that use art to explore ideas, connect people and make creativity more accessible.
Ashrita and Avishi recently conducted the same workshop in the Alliance Francaise of Hyderabad and it was a great success.
