International Women's Film Festival of Hyderabad is being organized in Hyderabad on 7th, 8th and 9th March with an aim to highlight women related issues through films.

Events at Lamakaan.

7th Friday : 1 pm : Screening of Kanyasulkam – A film on a famous Play by Gurazada Apparao on Woman Reforms followed by Interaction with Historian and Gurazada scholar Vedagiri Rambabu. 5 pm : Opening of the Exhibition on Feminism by Art Kommune (Lamakaan) 7 pm : Ji Jaisi AAp ki Marzi – Play by Udaan

8thSaturday : 11 am : Screening of Telugu film “ Ankuram”- A film on Human Rights and woman rights. Interaction with the director C UmaMaheshwarRao. 3 pm : Poetry recital by Feminist Poets 7 pm : Vimalakaa – A Balladeer sings on State of Women in our society.

9th Sunday 11 am : VIOLENCE : Screening of “That day after everyday” by AnuragKashyap ; “It’s your fault “ starring KalkiKoechlin ; “ No country for women”; “Majority Oppressed” 2 pm : EMPOWERMENT : Screening of “A day in the life” by ICRISAT; “Radio women of Satara”; “Invoking Justice” by DeepaDhanraj 7pm : Gulaabi Gang – A film by Nishta Jain and interaction with the filmmaker. Entry - Free all Days.

International Women’s Film Festival of Hyderabad is being organized in Hyderabad on 7th, 8th and 9th March, 2014, with an aim to highlight women and gender related issues through films. The festival seeks to screen unconventional and hard-hitting films and documentaries, and thus provide a platform to the people of the city for discourse and discussion on the issues of women, gender and feminism like IDENTITY DISCRIMINATION VIOLENCE SEXUALITY EMPOWERMENT IWFF’s mission is to entertain, inform, inspire, encourage and educate audiences to the the issues affecting women through film screenings and discussions. We honor those artists and film makers who, through their creative work, actively increase awareness, provide multiple viewpoints, address complex social issues, and inspire audiences through their cinema and art.
