10th HWMF-Community Singing: Gandhi’s favourite hymns Sharing Music – Creating Harmony

Communities around the world have used the wonderful act of singing to bring people together, create positive energy and boost their morale. The Hyderabad Western Music Foundation brings you bi-monthly sessions of Community singing. Participants are expected to have a basic interest in learning songs from all over the world in different styles, languages and historical contexts! So, if you love singing and revel in the sheer joy of music and understand what it is like to sing with a room full of people, this is the place to be! This week we shall sing Gandhi’s favourite hymns like Rock of Ages, Abide with Me and others. Several of these well know melodies were used by him as part of his prayer life. Hymns have played a major role in worshiping God throughout centuries and have influenced and even changed communities for good. This time round we again have an instrumental accompaniment in place to enhance your singing experience!
