Our conversation sessions between scientists and the general public, Sawaal-Jawaab, resume with a talk on "How Running and Throwing made us human". After a short 20 - 30 minute talk by our guest scientist, the audience is invited to engage in an informal, free-flowing discussion with the speaker. Interested participants of all ages are welcome. No prior knowledge or expertise is required. This conversation features Prof. Madhusudhan Venkadesan of the National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS), Bangalore. A mechanical engineer by training, Madhu uses a combination of measurements on human volunteers, calculations, and computer optimisation to study how the evolved form of the human body affects the way we move and control it.
