Hola Venky takes a humorous yet realistic portrayal of a downhearted software techie from India who rediscovers his passion for life during his short stay in US. A romantic comedy with an Indian-Mexican flavor, the film tracks middle-aged Venky's journey from his groin to his heart as he travels from Matunga in Mumbai to the Bay Area in San Francisco. Along the way, he falls head over heels in love with Mariachi music, loses 2% of his "god" in a freak accident, and meets a Mexican Detective who teaches him how to "smell"!
