A poet, singer, scholar and now a politician - Naliganti Sharath Chamar is a key figure in the emergence of "alternative literature". A PhD scholar in 'Telangana literature' from Osmania University, Sharath has been making huge stride's in the propagation of Dalit culture, literature, lifestyle writings and also in breaking the myth of the demonisation of the marginalised people. He played a major role in successful organisation of the historical "Beef festival" in the O.U Campus.

Prominent face of the newly emerging phenomenon of dalit-bahujan self-emancipation struggle , Naliganti sharath contested in the recent assembly election on MIM ticket from Amberpet constiuency. This evening, let us hear him sing and talk about secularism and democracy with his melodious balladeering loaded with powerful lyrics and moving poetry on the marginalised societies.
