Unschooling is an educational method and philosophy that rejects compulsory school as a primary means for learning. Unschoolers learn through their natural life experiences including play, household responsibilities, personal interests and curiosity, internships and work experience, travel, books, elective classes, family, mentors, and social interaction. Unschooling encourages exploration of activities initiated by the children themselves, believing that the more personal learning is, the more meaningful, well-understood and therefore useful it is to the child.

Session Format

Students learn by exploring electronic / electrical devices. They completely disassemble the device with their own hands and to put it back together.

Small batch of 10 students led by an expert instructor.

No rules, lecture, presentation, video, assessment, test or any other expectation from the students.

Working device may be used for demonstration. Non-working devices are used for practice by students.

Students are given a complete free-hand on whatever they like to do with the equipment.

Sufficient safety precautions will be taken by the instructor.

2 hours of unbridled fun.

Devices Used

Laptop, Mobile, Tablet, Desktop, Printer, Telephone, TV Set, Pressing Iron, AC, Refrigerator, Washing Machine, Solar Panel, UPS, Invertor, Flashlight, Fan, Dynamo, Walkman, VCR, Radio, Camera, Audio/video tape, Fax Machine, Calculator, Air Cooler, Geyser, Water Pump, etc.

Benefits

Students use their curiosity and creativity to learn on their own.

They develop a fearless attitude towards technology and science.

They discover that these devices are not as complex or mysterious as they seem to be.

Students & teachers relate to these sessions during regular class slyllabus.

Unschooling transforms students into explorers by giving them real world, hands-on learning.

We may never know all the benefits of unschooling as they are beyond our comprehension.

This method can be applied to all subjects.

Various other formats can be developed.
