Piyush Mishra is an Indian film and theatre actor, music director, lyricist, singer, scriptwriter.

A graduate from National School of Drama, he started his career in Hindi theatre, established himself as a theatre director, actor, lyricist and singer. A screenwriter, and Lyricist he received acclaim for his acting in Maqbool (2003) and Gangs of Wasseypur (2012). As a film lyricist and singer, he is noted for his songs "Arre Ruk Ja Re Bandeh" (Black Friday, 2004), "Aarambh Hai Prachand" (Gulaal, 2009), "Ik Bagal" (Gangs of Wasseypur - Part 2, 2012), and "Husna" (MTV Coke Studio, 2012)

Today he is one of the sane voices in increasigly polarising culture scenario of India. Piyush ji will talk & Sing on various cultural issues.

Followed by a screening of his film The Playback Singer by Suju Vijayan.

THE PLAYBACK SINGER tells the story of an aimless, would-be, jungle-gym architect who finds his existence disrupted - and his marriage upended - when his prickly, Indian, B-movie playback singer father-in-law comes to visit and overstays his welcome.
