An event to mark the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims which is observed on the Third Sunday of November each year. It provides an occasion to remember the lakhs of people killed each year in road accidents and the trauma and suffering faced by the families. It also thanks the effort of emergency services in saving lives.
Everyday in India, more than 375 people are killed in road accidents, which is an avoidable man made tragedy. The loss of life causes severe emotional trauma and financial burden to the families. World Day of Remembrance is commemorated on the third Sunday of November each year by NGOs around the world. Observing this day along with victims' families provides an opportunity for people to understand their pain and offer support and solidarity. It also helps to draw the public's attention to road accident deaths, their consequences and the steps that can be taken to prevent them. The day also provides an opportunity to remind governments and the society of their responsibility to make the roads safer. Admission free.
