Nationalism is in the air. In fact it has been in the air for the last several months. Its most concrete manifestation however has been in the form of accusations by its spokespersons against individuals and groups as 'antinational'. Whether it has reduced the menace of anti nationalism and terrorism or not is yet to be established, but it has most certainly exacted a heavy price from those who have been named antinational. In this structured discussion hosted and led by Anant Maringanti we will explore the moral charge of ideas like nation, nationhood and nationalism and the different historical, philosophical, political and spiritual bases of these ideas. We will also explore from the legal and constitutional perspective what may be considered offences against the nation in the Indian context. In the last few weeks, a cry for justice that rang out of HCU campus appears to have traveled over to campuses elsewhere. The specific context of each campus seems to be shaping the debate in a new way. What are the questions of justice that are getting articulated and which questions are getting sidelined in this journey. Is the spirit of the age trying to tell us something ? Are we hearing it ? Come join us with Anant Maringanti, Professors Amita Dhanda and Siddharth Chauhan from NALSAR University of Law on Saturday February 20th at 3:00pm.

All are welcome. Entry-Free.
