As a part of 'Woman's March' (a run up to Woman's day), Lamakaan is inviting you screening this wonderful film by one of Hyderabad's celebrated woman film makers - Saraswati Kavula.

"Cutting off a Lifeline at Hyderabad" is the story of the River Musi and its city, Hyderabad, India. This is the start sequence of a documentary produced by Saraswati Kavula, Hyderabad, by commission of nexus Institute, Berlin, Germany. This film is used as a basis for discussions with Hyderabadi citizens on sustainable development of this megacity. As a documentary filmmaker, she has travelled the length and breadth of the country and highlighted issues pertaining to the setting up of special economic zones and the coastal industrial corridor, pollution of the Musi river, illegal mining, and so on.

Saraswati discovered her passion for the preservation of environment during lessons on deforestation at school.
