ECOLOGISE HYDERABAD Ecologise Hyderabad is a small group of activists concerned with the ecological crisis of the city. The aim of the group is to look at the ecological crisis of the city holistically with a perspective of sustainability and equality. Thus it addresses several issues like water, energy, transport, waste management, home composting, terrace gardens,, health, education etc. The group runs several workshops to strengthen the efforts of the activists in running green programmes in different localities of the city with the help the resources available within the city. The workshops are aimed at activists preferably below 40 years of age and who are actively working at the community level for improving the city in terms of sustainability and equality. The aim of the workshop is to strengthen the knowledge base of the participants and empower them. The focus will be on what the participants/citizens themselves can do about it; in their personal lives and in their neighbourhood. The resource persons will be local scholars and experts from Hyderabad on these issues. There will also be social groups, activist groups, ngos who have analysed these issues concretely and have done significant work towards solving them. They will present their solutions and the difficulties they have faced and the successes they have achieved.
