Bio: Prof. Venkat Dhulipala is Associate Professor of History at the University of North Carolina Wilmington, where he teaches courses on South Asian and Global History. He is also currently a Visiting Senior Fellow at the Center for Policy Research, New Delhi. Creating a New Medina: State Power, Islam and the Quest for Pakistan in Late Colonial North India (Cambridge University Press, 2015) was cited by Newsweek as the Best Book in Global Non-Fiction in 2015 and described as "a masterpiece, arguably the most important work of History published in 2015".
