Lamakaan hosts a 3 day film festival "focus FEMME" a showcase of films that question gender, sex and stereotypes.

We talked about violence. We talked about abuse. We talked about discrimination. It’s time to talk about ‘the WHY’. Through the lens of personal experience, history and popular conceptions of masculinity and femininity, let us begin a dialogue about social attitudes and the gender bias we carry within us. Lamakaan invites you to three evenings of film screenings to pave the way for introspection on gender, sexuality & stereotypes. The screenings will be followed by discussions with the film makers and experts.

The film explores stereotypical images of women portrayed onIndian television by juxtaposing them against lived realities.
