Safety and Risk management in the outdoor requires a proactive professional passion, independent thinking and creative action to organize safe, authentic outdoor and adventure experiences.

This talk will discuss safety and risk management aspects related to activities and practices in the outdoors, adventure and wilderness environments. This will be at two levels: the functioning of an individual and an organisation, in the context of expectations from each role.

The talk will also discuss ways of striking a judicious and rewarding balance between the risk of loss and the benefit of gain for the activities provided to participants.

The talk will conclude with concrete suggestions for going ahead for both individuals and organisations."

Speakers: Shantanu Pandit & Akshay Shah are Outdoor Instructors * Educators with over 3 decades of outdoor education, adventure and training experience at NOLS, Hanifl Centres.
