Water conservation played a key role in ancient India. The beautiful monuments scattered though out the country is a testament to the knowledge and wisdom of our ancestors in regards to this precious resource.
VICTORIA LAUTMAN has published a book on stepwells in rajasthan and gujarat, gathered from her travels to India for about a decade.
I have invited her to share her insight on this issue since it is of utmost importance given the role water plays in our lives and how important water conservation has become to us.

I have been working with sustainability related issues for a long time. I am very interested in eco structures, permaculture, alternate education among other subjects. Water is something that is a neccessary requirement of living and its conservation is key to our survival. And that has what has prompted me to explore this subject.
