The Expendable People (Hindi/2016/58mins) Dir. Tapan Bose. The film documents the continuing struggle of the Adivasis for their right to life and dignity using rare archival footage and interviews with anthropologist, Christoph von Furer-Haimendorf. It focuses on a moment of hope when the government brought in the Forest Rights Act 2006 to right 'historic wrongs', but how the justice framework got nullified by vested interests so as to protect the interests of 'developers'.
