Play 1: Dharm-Shastra

Mahabharata, as we all know is an exemplary mythological tale which imparts wisdom on human ethics & righteousness, relationships & betrayal, hatred & vanity, greed & wrong-doing. Undoubtedly the teachings of this saga hold true in modern times as well.

Padma Bhushan awardee, Rashtrakavi Sri Ramdhari Singh ‘Dinkar’’s highly applauded work ‘Rashmirathi’ is weaved around instances from this life size story which in itself is an institution.

Safarnama Theater brings you an adaptation of a few verses from the masterpiece ‘Rashmirathi’ titled ‘Dharm-Shastra’ written & directed by Ashish Srivastava where the characters, their emotions & mindset as examined by Dinkar Ji have been explored.

It deals with the background story of Karn, one of the most skilled & accomplished warrior of his times, his identity & ideologies. Also, the important role Lord Krishna played in the series of events which unfolds to the epic battle.

Play 2: Atma-Dwand

Life changes every moment and it teaches us to move ahead. But sometimes, we encounter a few events which change our perspective towards instances completely. Atma- Dwand, an in-house production of Safarnama, revolves around such life changing events of strangers who decide to sit together one night and share their stories. What would really happen by the end of the very night? Will it bring a change in the lives of those strangers? Or will they just dust themselves and move on in life?
