Saarang : Five days, fifty events, five hundred participant colleges and footfalls crossing seventy thousand — there's a reason why Saarang, the annual cultural jamboree of IIT Madras, is one of THE biggest student-run cultural festival in the country. Saarang promises to be one of a kind, not just because of the massive crowds drawn to the event, but also because it is one of the very few mega-fests in the country that is entirely student run. Saarang has set up a stage for many globally renowned artists to redefine one's perception of music, dance and drama.... not to mention how it provided a platform for artists like AR Rahman and Anirudh Ravichandhar to kick-start their stellar careers at a time it was called Mardi Gras. The whole festival is full of street shows, soul stirring dance performances, jaw dropping stunts and more, by artists and students of various colleges. Saarang also has extremely competitive events from debates to dance competitions, and is also known for its array of workshops, lectures, dramatics, etc. Milan : Saarang goes beyond Chennai to reach out to the youths of India with Milan. Saarang Milan is a set of events including music, dance, quizzing and art held in various cities across India before the main fest, attracting and facilitating the talented participants thus adding Saarang's diversity and reach.
