Hyd Metro: How Fair the Fares Are? - A Panel Discussion

The much-awaited Hyderabad Metro Rail was inaugurated by PM Modi on 29th November 2017. The metro is considered to be India’s largest project facilitated via a public-private partnership model.

Unlike its state of the art infrastructure and the 30km route which was open to the public, the fares fixed by L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Ltd is not gone well with the general public. Is Metro Rail for the poor commuters? How will daily commuters cope up with fares? There are also issues with the kind of containers allowed inside the compartments of the Metro Rail. Even if these containers are allowed, it might be charged @ per 10kg. Will there be affordable transportation to the poor daily commuters? The panel will discuss these issues.
