Srinjoy Mukherjee was born in a highly enriched musical family. His grandfather Pandit Bibhuti Bhushan Mukherjee was a Pakhwaz player. Inspired by his father, He started learning Sarod under the guidance of his respected teacher, Diptesh Bhattacharya at the age of five. He gave his first public performance at the very age of ten. Later, He was groomed by Pandit Kamal Mullick and became a student of Kolkata Sangeet Research Academy – a very well-known music institute. He completed his bachelor degree in music from Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata. Current Status: At present Srinjoy is a Ganda Bandhan (a traditional ceremony of acceptance between a teacher and his most able student) student of the highly acclaimed Sarod player, Ustad Amaan Ali Khan. He gets occasional valued guidance from Sarod maestro, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan. All year round, he performs at various platforms and festivals in India. In December 2013, he embarked on a 3-months’ concert tour to the Middle East countries. It was a grand success and he has collected accolades from all the places he performed in that tour. He performs throughout the year around the whole world. He performed at “THE MALHAR FESTIVAL” in Benaras, he went to Assam and Tripura and had performed in numerous programs. His Bangladesh Tour was gracefully liked by eminent musicians and the people there were pleased with his overwhelming performance. In a nutshell he is a worldwide performer and by the grace of god his performances has been highly appreciated in the musical world. He has also been endorsed by ‘Real Net Broadband’ – Internet service-provider Company of West Bengal, as their Brand Music Ambassador, from the year 2013.He is also worked as a Director and co- Music director in few short films. First time he done an invited Role in a Bengali Movie Directed by the Great Bollywood Musician Arijit Singh also he done the background music also as a sarod player.
