Moving Images and Lamakaan come together to offer a monthly screening of movies that are interesting/thought provoking and leave a good feeling of watching cinema craft in some of its best repertoire.

Organizer
Moving Images in association with Lamkaan
Moving Images was started by a group of film lovers to create a forum for viewing, sharing and spreading the insights that cinema brings. In the several years since Moving Images began in 2004, it has showcased international cinema and regional cinema: the masters of European, American and Asian cinema (from Japan to Sri Lanka, from Kolkata to Kerala) Moving Images has invited film personalities such as Mahesh Bhatt, Elahe Hiptoola, Prakash Raj, Neena Gupta, Nandini Reddy, Madhavan, Girish Karnad and Jaya Bacchan and more to talk about the joys and tribulations of being in films. A first time Bombay based film maker brought his film Apna Asman (starring Irrfan Khan and Shobana) to screen for us. Prakash Raj screened his Sila Samayangalil before its commercial release. We screened the first ever Bangladeshi film to win an award at Cannes – The Clay Bird. Moving Images screened the Iranian animation film Persepolis, which had just then been shortlisted for an Oscar. Moving Images literally moves around: it has screened films at Saptaparni, the University of Hyderabad, the Goethe Zentrum (the German language institute), Vidyaranya School and Secunderabad Club. Regular monthly screenings are held twice a month in the preview theatres at Annapurna School of Film & Media Studies, Prasad Film Labs, or at Sri Sarathi Studios, typically on the second and fourth Sundays at 11 am. Moving Images is a non-profit society with about 150 members, and is constantly widening its reach. In July 2018, it has begun a series of free monthly screenings in association with Lamakaan
