Kuldip Nayar: (14 August 1923 – 23 August 2018) was an Indian journalist, syndicated columnist, human rights activist, author and former High Commissioner of India to the United Kingdom noted for his long career as a political commentator. He was also nominated as a member of the Upper House of the Indian Parliament in 1997. A stalwart of India – Pakistan Peace processes, Kuldip Nayar will be remembered always for his tireless and inspiring efforts to work for peace between the two neighbors mired in conflict since the Partition in 1947 that is taking a heavy toll on their citizens. His peace initiatives have inspired and will continue to inspire generations to come.
