The Trust Rashtrakavi Kuvempu Pratishthana was founded by Government of Karnataka in the name of Rashtrakavi Kuvempu, greatest writer of 20th century Kannada literature. Its Head Office is at Kuppali,a village in Shivamogga district where poet's house has been converted into a Museum of literary- cultural importance. The place has become a tourist centre, particularly for lovers of literature. Every day nearly 250 people visit the place and samadhi of poet on the top of nearby hill.The pratishthana has instituted " Kuvempu Rashtreeya Puraskar". a National award in the name of poet, which carries a Cash prize of Five Lakh Rupees. The Award of 2018 was given to Jeelani Bano and Rattan Singh, Noida. Jeelani Ji could not attend the award giving ceremony at Kuppali. Hence Office bearers will come to Hyderabad on Tuesday the 26th February evening to present the prestigious Kuvempu Puraskar, in the presence of writers of Urdu and other languages.
