'Golconda Bagnagar Hyderabad – Rise and fall of a global metropolis in medieval India' authored by Serish nanisetti - Book Launch and discussion.
About the Book: The legend of Bhagmati, the supposed lover of Mohammed Quli Qutb Shah, Hyderabad's founder, has been a matter of intense discussion from years, if not decades. Journalist Serish Nanisetti, who has been writing about Hyderabad's heritage from years, and who has done enough research to now be an authority on Golconda history, answers some of these questions in his latest book, which has been built on information gathered from several sources over a matter of 10 years. So come join us for a talk and learn about the history of Golconda, which is important to understand the core culture of our city. The talk will be moderated by Yunus Y. Lasania, Serish's former colleague and fellow journalist. Both of them together run The Hyderabad History Project, a blog (more active on Instagram), to dig out the lesser-known aspects of Hyderabad's history.
About the author: Serish Nanisetti is author of ‘Golconda Bagnagar Hyderabad – Rise and fall of a global metropolis in medieval India’, which is a narrative chronicle of the city during the Qutb Shahi era. A journalist with The Hindu in Hyderabad, he has extensively researched, written and photographed the city.
