WORLD PUPPETRY DAY CELEBRATIONS 2023 NAPC will be celebrating WPD 2023 by giving a puppet SHOW- This day is for the celebration of the art of Puppetry. Many are not aware of this art and a brief introduction to the art and the various types of puppets will be given followed by a performance. A Story from the Panchatantra- The Ungrateful man. Even though the stories from Panchatantra are ancient they still have lessons which our modern society can learn from. T Different types of contemporary puppets and techniques like Rod puppet, glove and shadow and large puppets will be used to bring alive the story .

About Nori Art & Puppetry Centre(NAPC) NAPC is a registered NGO that believes in reaching out through art and puppetry by conducting workshops, preparing and giving live performances for audiences in all walks of life including under privileged and handicapped children. They help motivate, inform and educate and entertain on several issues facing society. Major organizations associated with in the past; UNIMA, Bharatiya Puthli sangam, Sangeet Natak Academy, New Delhi, CAPART, Council for the Advancement of People’s Rural Technology and Advancement, UNDP United Nations Development Programme, South Asia Poverty Alleviation Project, NCERT, NCSTC,DST, New Delhi, Department of Culture, Ministry of Culture and Tourism, New Delhi The organization has conducted many training programmes for children , teachers and community workers and made productions for well-known educational organizations. They have also participated in various festivals all over the country and abroad and given performances. About the director in brief: Smt Ratnamala Nori, holds a B.A(Fine) degree from M.S.U, Baroda, M.A.(Ancient,Indian History,Culture &Archeology) from Osmania University, A.M.I Diploma In Montessori Training, P.G Diploma in Mass Com and Journalism(IGNOU). With full support of her husband and two children she founded The Nori Art &Puppetry Centre, a cultural N.G.O. at Hyderabad., She received an Ugadi Purushkar award for her innovative work with puppetry in 1998 .A Nandi award was given for a programme made for Hyderabad Doordarshan –Maya Oka Japan Katha and an NCERT Award in 1887 for her educational toy-a puppet.
