DEBATE CENTRAL is a debating platform, where a free, frank, bold and open exploration of ideas happens between debaters from various walks and stages of life, with the sole purpose of encouraging discussions and exchange of views. It also stresses on the twin virtue of free debate: stand for your own convictions fiercely and with integrity; but respect difference of opinion and dissent. The first edition of DEBATE CENTRAL was launched at Lamakaan, as an Initiative by Toastmasters (Hyderabad) , and Young Orators Club of Secunderabad (YOCS). Debate Central was flagged off on Sunday, July 17, 2011, 6 pm, at La Makaan, Road No. 1, Banjara Hills (lane between C-Bay and Jalagam Vengal Rao Park). The second edition was on the topic: "India has betrayed its democracy and freedom." The third topic, on September 17, is "Death Sentence has no place in a civilized society." 4- "Marriage is a failed institution" Debate Central 5 - The World is a better place without Religion sixth being, "FDI in Retail is harmful for India" Seventh was "Mass education is moving India towards 21st Century Serfdom"
