For its next screening, Hyderabad Cinephiles is showing Jafar Panahi's Offside in Lamakaan. Set in the repressive political environment of Iran, the movie follows a group of girls who are passionate about football and defies all the rules for something so simple but potentially consequential for them,that is, watching a football game in the stadium. Offside, banned in Iran, gives an insightful view into the subjugation faced at different levels by people, especially women, under the tyrannical state of Iran. The screening will be followed by a discussion.
