Palestine is back into the news after the unprecedented series of attacks by the Palestinian resistance movement which is being led by the Islamist group HAMAS. As expected, the Zionist Israeli state retaliated with brute force and the region has again turned into a theatre of war. The leaders of several countries including India have squarely blamed HAMAS for its act of 'terror' and supported the right of Israel to its "self-defense". Many people are blaming both the sides and making a humanitarian appeal for peace. But, is it even possible to think about peace in a situation of extreme injustice, brutal Israeli colonial occupation of Palestine and a devious zionist design to annihilate the entire Palestinian people? What are the roots of the conflict in Palestine? These are the questions we wish to raise and discuss as part of this extremely important discussion.
