Saraswati Kavula has been making independent documentaries since 2004 on subjects concerning environment, health, livelihoods and agriculture. Decode Vaccines is a 2 part documentary made in 2019-2020 filmed in different parts of India and the United States including voices from various walks of life : doctors, parents, advocates, activists, politicians among others. Vaccines have been in controversy since the first smallpox vaccine was made. But the prominent narrative is about how vaccines have eradicated diseases and how they helped in survival of humans. However, a different perspective has emerged over past few decades within the medical fraternity and amongst parents with the surge in adverse events post immunisation. Decode Vaccines looks at the deeper issues concerning vaccine safety and children's health and at the players who are pushing for more and more vaccines to be included in the immunization schedule.

The first part will be screened on 1st Feb 2024 and Part 2 will be screened on 15th Feb 2024 at 7 pm.
