Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) make up 2.21% of India's population, totaling 26.8 million individuals. Despite over 10 million registered voters, their political participation is hindered by barriers such as inaccessible polling stations and communication obstacles. The Disability Manifesto, launched by the National Centre for Promotion of Employment for Disabled People (NCPEDP) in collaboration with the National Disability Network (NDN) and National Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (NCRPD), addresses these concerns. It reflects the needs of over 1 crore disabled voters, gathered through extensive outreach and surveys, endorsed by 600+ organizations, representing diverse voices nationwide.
