On the occasion of the anniversary of the Great October Revolution Hyderabad Cinephiles invites you for Screening and Discussion of Sergei Eisenstein's film “Strike”

Pathbreaking filmmaker Eisenstein's first full-length feature film “Strike” depicts the conditions of workers in a factory in Tsarist Russia. After a fellow worker hangs himself when accused of thievery, the workers, already angered by the wages and working conditions, launch a strike. The film presents the spectator with the world of workers, bosses, spies, police and troops in a visual and technical masterpiece. The film is essential viewing, not just because of its pioneering technique but also for its historical significance.

The film will be screened with English subtitles, and the screening will be followed by a discussion. All are welcome!
